(Xinhua) China has confirmed its 12-player roster for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup on Monday, with forward Zhang Ning and point guard Xu Jie being late scratches.  

The 12 participants are Wang Junjie, Zhu Junlong, Li Xiangbo, Yu Jiahao, Zhao Rui, Zhao Jiayi, Hu Jinqiu, Hu Mingxuan, Gao Shiyan, Liao Sanning, Cheng Shuaipeng and Lei Meng.  

In a statement, the Chinese team said that its coaching staff had decided the roster "on the basis of overall preparation needs for the FIBA Asia Cup," and submitted it to the organizing committee on Monday.

The 2025 FIBA Asia Cup will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from August 5 to 17. China is drawn in Group C along with Saudi Arabia, India and Jordan.

(Xinhua) Lando Norris used a bold one-stop strategy to hold off McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri by just 0.7 seconds to win Sunday's Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.  

Norris began the race at the Hungaroring from third on the grid, but dropped to fifth at the start after being squeezed by George Russell and Fernando Alonso, with surprise polesitter Charles Leclerc leading the field ahead of Piastri in second.

(Xinhua) The United States emerged as the biggest winner on the penultimate day of the swimming competition at the World Aquatics Championships on Saturday, as Katie Ledecky captured her seventh world title in the women's 800m freestyle, before the U.S. mixed 4x100m freestyle relay team struck gold with a new world record.  

In the women's 800m freestyle final, Ledecky, Canada's Summer McIntosh and Australia's Lani Pallister quickly distanced themselves from the field.

(Xinhua) China's Qin Haiyang powered to his second gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships on Friday, storming from lane eight to win the men's 200m breaststroke, while Mexico's Osmar Olvera Ibarra stunned the field in diving to capture the men's 3-meter springboard crown.  

Qin, the 2023 world champion in Fukuoka, had scraped into the final in eighth after clocking 2:09.32 in Thursday's semifinal.

(Xinhua) China's Chen Yuxi captured her fourth world title in the women's 10-meter platform, while Romania's David Popovici delivered a historic swim in the men's 100-meter freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships on Thursday.  

Chen, who led both the preliminary and semifinal rounds, secured gold with a score of 430.50 points.

(Xinhua) China added two silver and two bronze medals to its tally at the World Aquatics Championships here on Wednesday, while France's Leon Marchand set a new world record in the men's 200-meter individual medley.  

In the final of the mixed 4x100m medley relay, China fielded Xu Jiayu, Qin Haiyang, Zhang Yufei and Wu Qingfeng. The quartet finished in three minutes 39.99 seconds to claim silver, while Neutral Athletes B (NAB) took the gold in a championship record time of 3:37.97.

(China Daily) It looked like one of those pinchme upsets, given the huge ranking gap separating either side of the net, but it was not entirely a surprise for China's resurgent ace Zhu Lin, as shocking as it seemed on paper.

(Xinhua) China added two more gold medals to its diving tally at the World Aquatics Championships on Tuesday.  Chen Yiwen and Chen Jia, a newly formed pair, captured gold in the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard with 325.20 points. Scarlett Mew Jensen and Yasmin Harper of Britain earned silver with 298.35, while 14-year-old twins Lia and Mia Cueva Lobato of Mexico took the bronze.
